On October 29th Apple released macOS Mojave Security Update 2019-001 and High Sierra Security Update 019-006. MacOS Sierra is no longer supported.

How do I keep track of all the macOS Build Versions?

I document all of all macOS versions along with most Apple Applications, XProtect, Gatekeeper and MRT updates in one database. You can check out the link below.

  1. I ran this
    softwareupdate –reset-ignored

have no idea why that particular update got “hidden” as I never hid it.
I’m wondering if running the combo updater, or the safari update did something.
The fact it happened on all 3 machines is puzzling.

  2. I just found your site and have bookmarked for future use. What a great reference. I wonder if you’d give me your thoughts on an issue with this update…

Any thoughts would be appreciated for those that really dive deep into weird issues where no other symptom exists and that all available means of testing work fine.

Forgive me for starting a new thread, but my question has changed due to some new info.
I have 3 identical MBA’s (2017) all configured the same.
A few days back, I noticed Safari 13.0.3 available in SU, so I installed in all 3 machines.
What I’ve noticed is that SU does NOT see anything now except the Catalina upgrade. That is the only message that presents. I see an updated badge of 1 on System Prefs in Dock and I see that badge on Software Update in System Prefs when I open. But, as I mentioned, I do not even get a “your software is up to date” message. Just Catalina.
Disk Utility reports good, no issues in EtreCheck, zapped Pram and did safe boot. Nothing changed. I’m NOT having any other issues. The only thing I’ve done differently is that I downloaded the combo update previously instead of SU Supplemental because the combo updater looked to “updated” with a newer file. I assumed that the changes in that Supplemental update had been worked into it. Both files were updated 9/26. I’m wondering if that has caused my issue and that I now need to go back and install that Sup file eventhough SU doesn’t call for it.
What is more weird, is that console reports seeing the update.

    1. Just wanted to followup on this to see your thoughts. This particular update still does not show up in SU on all three machines. I’m wondering if applying the combo update did something that prevents seeing SU 2019-001?

      1. Hello Darren,

Just to be sure, you are checking for the update on the new 16″ MacBook Pro right?

It’s pretty confusing but this update is only available for that model.

        1. No, I have 3 MBA (2017) that for some reason was not showing this update available. Recently, I used the 10.14.6 combo updater to update from 10.14.5 instead of just the 10.14.5 to 10.14.6 updater. Also, when the “supplemental” updates came out, I noticed the 10.14.6 combo updater was also updated. That said, I just used the newer combo updater and it also brought my build to 18G103 (which is what the 10.14.6 Supplemental update said it would do if used). I noticed that none of my MBA’s saw the new 2019-001 Security Update. After much research, I decided to use the terminal command to clear hidden updates. Now, I never hid the update as far as I know, but sure enough, after using that terminal command, Software Update now sees the new security update.

          1. Oops, sorry I was looking at the 10.15.1 Supplemental Update Title when I replied to you.

You were looking for the 2019-001 Security Update for your 3 MacBook Air’s running Mojave.

            Did you run `sudo softwareupdate –reset-ignored` ?
