macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 Update (20G95) is now available for all users!

Apple just dropped the new macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 Update. Let’s find out what’s new in this update!

The only information that we have so far is this line from the update text.

“macOS 11.5.2 includes bug fixes for your Mac.”

UPDATE: Apple has updated the security updates page.

macOS Big Sur 11.5.2
This update has no published CVE entries.

The update must be related to an OS level fix.

I’m looking into the update now so we can figure out what it actually fixes.

UPDATE: Howard Oakley found that the build version of Safari increased from 16611.3.10.1.3 to 16611.3.10.1.6. He also noted a few version number changes to private frameworks.

I can’t connect to a Logitech BT Adapter with Big Sur 11.5.2. I’m not sure if I could with prior versions. Just got a Mac mini M1 and updated the OS.

My uni learning portal isnt wrking since the update .

The update broke communication with Antelope Discrete audio interface on my pro tools rig. Needless to say, I’m out of work until I can get it working again. PITA

The last version introduced a bug that made the volume up and down keys temporarily freeze video. I saw this in Chrome using YouTube this week, but 11.5.2 made it work flawlessly again.

Thanks for the information.

One of the things I’ve noticed about 11.5.2 is that, since I installed it my multi-monitor support through the plugable USBC three display docking station (ud-ultcdl) is broken.

Is there any way I can rollback the update back to 11.5.1?

I wonder if they fixed the multimonitor bug on the 16″ macbook pro’s, that results in them throttling from overheating. Going to give it ago.

Noticed Big Sur 11.5.2 brought back the “Skip” button to the Notification panel in Music. Missed that…
Now if they can compact the ALBUM cover art under Song view, that would be great… there’s about 3in or real estate to work with now
