  1. Is there any way to get just the Combo update package? Or can it be extracted from the full update? Or failing that, what happens if you run the full installer on an existing Big Sur install?

    I’m trying to find a way to update approx 10 Macs all running Big Sur that does not involve each of them downloading the same 5.7gb update file… any advice? Thanks.

  3. Horrible update. The install crashed my 2015 Retina MBP about 5 times during the install, it’s so slow now it’s almost unusable, starting up takes much longer than it used to, the UI is sluggish.
    Horrible.

  6. As with my comments on 11.3, I suspect an undocumented change was made to the SMB client with 11.3.1. With 11.3 I was unable to save to a Synology SMB share from Word or Preview as both apps would simply hang when a save was attempted, but after updating to 11.3.1 this has been fixed. In addition things which did not function well on a SMB share (like duplicating or copying files in the Finder) has been resolved and everything now happens almost instantaneously (eg a folder containing 12 files totalling 150MB now duplicates within a second). With 11.3 any file operations would take a very long time but eventually they did complete.

  7. I can not update to 11.3.1 I am running v11.1 the update link does not work . I also tried Patched Sur v2.1 & still can’t update what do I have do.
