I had issue with Mobile account (active directory) after 11.3.1 update: I was able only first time after upgrade, then account seems locked.
I was not linked to active directory because offline and not in office, checking with a backup local account seems that the PrimaryGroupID was not solved, for the moment I’ve solved changing it to a local one.
My comment on SMB client woes hasn’t appeared yet (presumably awaiting moderation) but having updated to 11.3.1 this problem seems to have been resolved, at least so far. Might be worth checking this and if confirmed it could be added to the undocumented fixes in the 11.3.1 report.
Since the 11.3 update I cannot save files from Word or Preview to an SMB share on a Synology box. Everything is running the latest release versions.
The symptom is that each app hangs with a beachball when trying to save and I have to Force-Quit to get out of it.
The weird thing is that saves from Excel, Adobe Illustrator, & Apple Mail (the only apps I have tried and use regularly to save to the shares) all seem to be fine. But the other two apps hang instantly.
I have previously had problems with saving from Preview after the share has been mounted for a few days, but this was resolved by unmounting and remounting the shares, when it would again work fine for a few days. Now it is instant even with a newly mounted share.
Because of this issue I was sure to update to Big Sur with a fresh update to a new external SSD from my iMac27 2019 as I did not want to carry anything over from the old system. So it is a relatively fresh installation with, as I say, every app fully updated to the latest version. I have not installed 11.3.1 yet as I did not see any suggestion it might fix this issue, but I will try it as I cannot work properly with this issue!
SMB does not work at all, its totally broken
Do you mean SMB as a server or as a client? Some more details would be very helpful as you will see I have a problem with the client. If your problems are also client problems then I am somewhat reassured that it may be a systemic issue rather than something unique to me…
